New HIV Cure Research Center BeCURE Opens at Si-M
The Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin has inaugurated BeCURE, a new research center dedicated to developing innovative strategies for curing HIV, located at Der Simulierte Mensch (Si-M).
Led by Prof. Christian Gaebler, BeCURE aims to translate scientific discoveries into clinical applications, focusing on antibody-based immunotherapies as well as novel gene and cell therapies. Building on remarkable HIV cure cases at Charité, the center seeks to make HIV remission and ultimately a cure accessible to more people.
Located at Si-M, BeCURE benefits from the interdisciplinary research environment and close collaboration between Charité and TU Berlin, connecting basic research, technological innovation, and clinical expertise.
