What is Team up! Buddies?

Biomedical research is becoming increasingly interdisciplinary — but building lasting networks can be challenging and time-consuming. Team up Buddies offers a simple solution: combine daily research work duties with meaningful networking.

By teaming up, researchers can transform routine desk work and work requirements into opportunities for collaboration, skill sharing, and lasting connections — making research more efficient, inspiring, and enjoyable.

Use the SIM Steps for Collaboration:

  • Synchronize: Liase to fulfill the work duty
  • Interact: During joint work, share and learn about each other’s research
  • Mobilize: Outline possible future collaborations when fitting

Find your ideal buddy and build your co-working team in four ways: Writing Team, Helper Team, Research Team, Expert Team.

Build a Writing Team

Struggling with slow progress, distractions, lack of motivation, or limited experience in writing scientific proposals, grants, applications, reports, manuscripts, or presentations? Team up with a peer for a co-working experience in an office, library, café, or another inspiring spot to boost productivity and quality! You don’t have to work on the same task — co-working on different projects can be just as effective.

Joining a Writing Team means working on your own tasks — but with the added benefits of collaboration:

  • Focused work time – dedicate time to writing without other distractions.
  • Higher motivation – work alongside someone who also needs to write.
  • Immediate feedback – quick Q&A and peer support when needed.
  • Networking opportunities – easy access for potential future collaboration.

Build a Helper Team

Facing a work duty where you lack experience? Team up with a peer who has already successfully completed similar work and can provide tips, insights, answers, and feedback. Use the Helper Team’s “I need help for…” function to find guidance. Completed a challenging task yourself? Share your expertise and connect with peers using the “I can offer help for…” function.

By joining a Helper Team, you can:

  • Expand your network and make yourself visible – share knowledge and build connections.
  • Create collaboration opportunities – help each other grow.
  • Direct peer contact – easily connect and get to know others.
  • Valuable feedback – learn from peers who have mastered the challenge.

Build a Research Team

Looking to expand your network and explore new research possibilities? A Research Team is the perfect way to share and discuss research topics and ideas with peers to identify potential collaboration opportunities. Share your research ideas and expertise to connect with others, add complementary skills and find new project partners.

By joining a Research Team, you can:

  • Grow your network – share your research topics and ideas with others.
  • Connect directly – easily meet peers with shared interests and complementary expertise.
  • Quickly establish new collaborative research projects.

Build an Expert Team

Are you an expert in your field and eager to share your knowledge in cross disciplinary work? An Expert Team lets you connect with peers, contribute your expertise and support projects such as workshops, teaching formats or expert panels. Share your expertise and gain access to experts from different fields to collaborate on creating innovative formats.

By joining an Expert Team, you can:

  • Expand your network and make yourself visible– share your expertise and let others know your skills.
  • Broaden your scope – explore new cross working approaches.
  • Create collaborations – open doors to new projects.
  • Direct peer connection – build meaningful professional relationships.
